10-Week Kids Public Speaking ( Nov 2017 )

Dear Team,

Thank you so much for the wonderful journey in this 10-week. Teachers ... Yati, Zam, Kamala, Paul, Lee Chen, Aiziah, Stacy, Cherry, Vivian, Chloe, Kian, Suhaila, Elain and Jimmy. Started with Dreamworld. It was massive. Parents already arriving at 9.30am, even when the mall was not even open yet. I wondered how they find their way in. Hahaha. Non stop shooting for the brand ambassador. Many stories during the 6 hours. We have branches who struggled a bit here and there, but it was all good. We had so much fun and laughter while we were doing the shooting. The ground floor had transformer performance ( morning ) and also a celebrity artist ( afternoon ) who was doing a promo. But "we" were so loud and crowded that we blocked so many pathways at the mall, that security guards have to come and tone us down...hahahahah...we were given the football "yellow" card.

The drama continued when we were offered a stagetime at empire. It was one week earlier before our finale. Meaning, we had to cut short 1 week to prepare them for the big stage. Teachers had to conduct extra classes. Parents had to arrange the kids' timetable, but everyone was working towards one goal. For the kids to stand on the big stage. Also, many co-ordinations needed to be done. The area was 9000 sq.ft. We were worried that it will look empty. Luckily at the very last few moment, our friends and partners came to support. We had nagomi art, archery, cupcake topping workshop, colouring contest and of course public speaking. The kids were overjoyed as they are having a great time going through some other activities besides speaking. Parents, thank you so much for your support too. I know you all had to rush from one place to another to come over for the event. Thank you thank you.


Finale at Evolve Mall. From 10.00am to exactly 9.00pm. This one we would like to extend our gratitude to the crew of camera guys, video guys and PA guys. You were all super awesome. The marathon shooting even have to stop a few minutes when the equipment jammed-up. Hahaha...luckily it was not on fire. 9.30am...kids and parents were already in. Kicking-off with TTDI, then Mandarin ( puchong and ttdi ), then followed by Shah alam and Subang. Then continued down south when students from Nilai and Seremban came. Puchong and SS2 were next to flood the mall. Then Kajang and Kota Kemuning combo, and the last batch was Mont Kiara and Ampang. Teachers, parents, kids ...TQTQTQ. This is all a team effort and we move forward to more exciting events and things in 2018.

How to be an emcee ?

How to be an emcee ?

Do you know you can start anytime ? Even when you are young. Emcees are in demand as we have events everyday. Conferences, birthdays, weddings, roadshows and many more. Just check out shopping malls concourse area and also hotels, you will see many activities going on. Each activity, they will need emcees.

So, how to be an emcee?

1) You need to be ready. 

How to go about being ready ? You need to have practice session, an environment where it is safe, at least to make mistakes and get valuable feedback for improvement.

If you are an adult, you can join toastmasters. For us, we have kids emcees happening in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. Below are some of our activities, working with the kids to clock the stagetime.

Get the stagetime, be it in school or your friends event. You can start by volunteering, but there is a fine-line being taken advantage off if you do it too many times. You will have to decide if you want to charge a certain fee for the services. That is entirely up to you during the negotiation.

2) You need to create a profile of your services.

This can be done with a simple website. Companies who wants engage emcees will obviously need to know our credentials. Thus, having a website is a no-brainer for them to find you.

Second is to have a social media profile or page, highlighting your services too. Facebook and instagram is a good start for more personal events like birthdays and weddings. Linkedin will be next if you want to get corporate engagement.


3) Get a mentor

How to learn a skill faster ? Get a mentor. Mentor is someone who has gone through the challenges and will guide you. He or she will help you save a lot of time by reducing your learning curve. Bear in mind that you might need to take those harsh feedback if you are getting a mentor. Afterall, a diamond is produced through many hours of polishing.

Empire City - Stagetime ( Kids Public Speaking ) - 12 Nov ( Sunday )

What are you going to do on 12 Nov ? Why not come over to empire city. We will have many kids' activities going on.

Mark your calendar. 12 nov, sunday from 10.00am to 6.00pm.

The main event will be Kids Public Speaking by Johan Speaking Academy. We will have kids from various branches coming over to do their presentation on a big stage. Kids who are presenting is now undergoing the 10-week program from September till end November.

We will also have free trial class for Kids Public Speaking for public who wants to try first hand this experience. Let's give them an opportunity to try out.

Have you heard before of kids youtubing ? This will be a NEW session where kids will know the fundamentals of youtubing and maybe make some videos.

We will also have kids colouring contest going on. This is for kids age 4 to 12 years old. There will be top 3 prizes sponsored by Mammoth Empire.

Besides that, we will have Nagomi art. If you are not sure what is Nagomi art , then come by after lunch to experience it yourself. There will be a workshop conducted by Teacher Peggy.

Cupcake deco. Are you sure ? Make sure you design the cupcake toppings before eating the cupcake. It is going to be fun and exciting.

Now, what about some sports ? Let's play archery. This game is safe. Kids and adults can have a go on the bow and arrow.

The next big media will be videos. The rise of videos had actually helped a lot of businesses, communities and even individuals.

So, what is this kids youtubing all about ?

Doing what you love is not a luxury anymore. It is a necessity. The future trend is moving towards digital. We have been conducting Kids Public Speaking classes since 2014, and had taught more than 1000 kids to speak on stage.

Video is just a tool to help them find their voice. If your child loves gaming, he can do gaming via youtube. If she loves cooking, she can do cooking on youtube.  If they love to talk about toys, toys it will be.

Youtubing is just a term. More importantly, we help them find their voice and rhythm in life. What will they learn in this 10-Month program. Skills which are very useful in the future :-
