"Kids, are you ready ?"

After their 10 weeks Kids Public Speaking Program, the 11th week was their Graduation, or better know as Kids Public Speaking Expo.

Kids came from various locations across Peninsular Malaysia for this big event. They were from :

- Taman Tun Dr Ismail
- Citta Mall
- Setia Alam
- Bangsar
- Puchong
- Shah Alam
- Ampang
- Seremban
- Sri Damansara

This event has been running since 2015, and the organizer is Johan Speaking Academy.

This event was a marathon, from morning 10.00am till 7.00pm. Parents were so happy to see their kids speak on stage. This is a real-life-experience for them.

Mastermind Group - Why do you need to be in one ?

Johan Speaking Academy just celebrated its 3rd anniversary. Our signature program is our Kids Public Speaking classes which is now in 14 locations across Malaysia. In this 3rd anniversary, branches across Malaysia met up in our mastermind gathering.

Why do you need to be in a mastermind group ?

This is depending on your industry, try to be in a mastermind group around the location you stay, or get into your industry association. Why mastermind group ?

1) You can bounce off new ideas and share challenges

In our mastermind group, each branch of our Kids Public Speaking program share their challenges. When someone share their journey, we listen. This is very important. Then sometimes there is a light bulb which will light off ,

"Oh ! I never thought of that. Wow !"
"Is it ? That really happen ?"
"Hmmm...i can learn from this"

When my partners share their best practices in their branches, we learn from each other. Good ideas, we take and implement. Challenges they faced, we take that as lessons and learn.

2) You motivate each other

In business, we might have our ups and downs. In a mastermind group, we motivate each other. Giving positive words, words of encouragement is a battery energizer.

3) You discuss moving forward plans

What is next for the industry ? Johan Speaking Academy has been pioneering the industry since 2014. We discuss new ideas, new products to launch, how to improve our delivery of our programs and many more.

Moving forward will motivate people cause we have a common goal to achieve. A goal to bless more kids with our programs.

Is Passion Enough ? Kids Public Speaking Ipoh ..

5 Hours ! That was how long it took me to drive from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur on a Sunday evening.

"Thank you so much parents for your support. We could not have done it without your wonderful kids, all of them were so courageous and brave! Thank you once again." Class ended with 16 kids, cheering and were so happy. We took pictures together, some fun, some funny and some crazy.

Lunch time ! Visited a place with a BIG TREE, had some yong tau foo there and by 4pm, we are ready to go home. Waze shows 2 hrs 45 mins ! Wow ..

As we hit the highway, the traffic is so bad, cars were practically moving like 30km/hr. School holidays became like Chinese New Year holidays. We stopped at the rest area after 30 mins to had a nap. The workshop did wear us out, but with a full stomach under the hot sun, with air cond blowing into your eyes, hahahahaha...the eyes could not bear any longer. We continued the journey, then we heard. BEE BO BEE BO BEE BO, ambulans blazing through the emergency lane and overtook us in a second. I knew this is going to be a long journey, must be some accident in front.

Cars are not moving, cars are not moving, we decided to do a second pit stop. From Ipoh to KL, that 2 hours, i did not even stop, but now i am doing 2 pit stops in less than 1 hour. No choice, the cars aint moving at the highway. True enough, there were 2 minor accidents at different spots, together with school holidays made the journey more than doubled the time. At the end, it took us total 5 hours from 4pm to 9pm to reach home. Totally exhausted.

Is PASSION enough ?
Along the highway, i did a lot of thinking. Is passion enough in what you do ? Is passion really enough ? Circumstances will tear you down, the journey you are going through, will have obstacles, challenges, and unforseen situations.

The road to your dreams, your aspirations, may not be 2 years as you thought, it may be 5 years ! or even longer. You may be tired, but you must keep moving forward, if that is really want you want. To the goals that you MUST achieve, not SHOULD achieve. Know when to stop for a break and "fuel" up, as it is a marathon not a sprint.

And flipping through my phone's photo album at home, during dinner + supper that day, i realized, passion is just part of the equation. The PURPOSE of what you do, will drive you and propel you forward. And if you can find FULFILLMENT in your PURPOSE, in what you do and to be able to serve for a greater cause, this will be the best ! Brand Ambassador Program @ Little Kingdom - Johan Speaking Academy

2 April,2017. It was a sunday. The road was peaceful but the hearts and minds of 135 kids were racing like a bullet train. It is their showtime !

Brand Ambassador program organized by Johan Speaking Academy was held at Little Kingdom, Maju Junction Shopping Mall Level 3.

The kids had prepared their speech for the past weeks and they are ready to perform. At 9.30am, even before the mall opens, the parents are coming in one-by-one. The joy, excitement and also being able to be a brand ambassador for Little Kingdom excites them.

We have 9 locations of kids coming in under the Johan Speaking Academy program. Locations are Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Citta Mall, Setia Alam, Bandar Sri Damansara, Bangsar, Shah Alam, Ampang, Puchong and Seremban. Besides kids, we also have 6 teenagers who joined this program and another 10 kids who were Mandarin Speaking.

They took the stage and spoke about product and services of Little Kingdom located at Maju Junction.

At 1pm, it was the group photo. Around 500 pax cramped into the Magical Castle. Parents, kids, teachers and the crew members. It was a memorable day. 

After group picture, we continued the program for the second half. Total time, we took almost 6 hours plus. It was indeed a magical moment at Little Kingdom, Maju junction, witnessing the kids experiencing a breakthrough, building their confidence, taking the stage with confidence and also the joy in the faces of parents.

Can i send my child over to learn english ?

I want my child to improve his english, can i send him here ?

Are there english lessons for kids ?

Above are some questions parents asked us before sending them to our Kids Public Speaking program. Our program is for kids age 7- 12 years old.

While we do agree that public speaking is a way to communicate in english, but our emphasis is very much on getting them on stage, rather than the medium of english. We are very focus on them building their confidence through public speaking skills. Once parents understood our objectives, then it is easier for us as we are on the same page and understand each other.

3 reasons why public speaking is important - Johan Speaking Academy

Public speaking is one of the top 10 fears among people. Yet, this skill has many benefits if you can master it. But why public speaking is important ?

Here are 3 reasons why :

1) You will need to use it one day 

College : The dreaded final year project where you need to present in front of your peers or lecturers. You can do your project well, have great ideas, but if you can't present it, it will go to waste. If you can't express your ideas well, it is just an idea kept.

Workforce : Being able to do public speaking will keep you ahead of your colleagues. Employers are looking for people who can articulate their message and sell their ideas. Or better sell the products and services of the company.

2) You go out of your comfort zone, which is ..

Public speaking will push you out of your comfort zone. When you are out of your comfort zone , you are learning. And continuous learning is important if we want to move forward in life. When you volunteer for an event , to be a speaker or an emcee for your company, you push yourself. Keep pushing your boundaries and you will see the benefits.
